Hello! I missed a few days while in Amsterdam for my Blog Every Day in May challenge — I actually had a few posts pre-written, but WordPress was giving me some issues on my iPad, so that went out the window. Sorry.
In other news, Amsterdam was amazing and I’m trying to rearrange things so Matt and I can go back sometime this year because it was so cool. I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun in such a short weekend! Photos are coming up soon-ish.
To get back into the swing of things, today’s topic is inspiration — or rather, who inspires you? Instead of pegging specific people, I decided to draw up a list of people who make me happy and inspire me to make better life decisions.
Those who fight for the right to _____. Whether it be for control over their bodies, further education opportunities, etc. In another life, I would have been arrested for trying to vote.
Medical professionals who donate their time and expertise to those who cannot afford medical service, especially in dangerous countries.
Teachers who go above and beyond their profession to encourage their students to go after their goals.
Ditto goes for those who rescue animals. I cannot understand how some people think animals have no feelings. I have big ugly cries when I read stories about abuse like with Raju the elephant. (He’s okay now!)
Parents who treat their children like a peer. Note, I do not mean friend — instead, treating their children like actual people who matter, not like a short person who lives in their home.
Strangers who help other strangers because it’s the right thing to do, without expecting anything in return.
